Catch-A-Call helps a lot. It was extremely easy to set up and works very well. I was hesistant to buy it because of other reviewers having problems with the phone ringing when there was no call coming in. I haven't had this problem at all with mine. The only thing I've experienced is that, most of the time, it will only ring one time when a call comes in. This hasn't been a problem, because it's right beside the computer when I'm online and I've learned to pick it up after one ring. It has been well worth the price.

If you are in the unfortunate situation of having to use dial-up this thing is a lifesaver. However do not attempt to use a wireless phone (corded phones only its way down hidden in the directions) as it will cause great heartache. You're on the internet, it buzzes, pick up the phone, no more (hundreds?) of missed calls. The disclaimer is may not be compatible with some phone companies. And of course no duh you need call waiting.
catch-a-call disappointing.......2006-07-12
The catch-a-call catchs my call, but it does not let me see who's calling and according to this device it is caller id compatible. Also my callers tell me my phone rings 3-4 times before i actually hear it ringing. Also box says it can put your computer on hold for 30 seconds. I'm lucky if it does 10 seconds. And when I do get off the phone before it disconnects, the computer will still disconnect 5 seconds after I hang up.

watch connection speed go south.......2006-04-20
I normally connect at 44.0k to 46.6k on my dial up. First thing I checkled after hooking it up was the connection speed. I connected at 26.6k, 32.5k, and 38.5k. Don't know if the thing works or not because i junked it.
