Nice feature set, nice price. Sound quality (on the other end) is clear but a little hollow-sounding. Room monitoring (aka baby monitoring) feature works well. Not too beepy (we had a Vtech previously that drove me nuts.)
One of the four batteries in our kit has never managed to hold a charge. (Still haven't gotten around to exchanging it.) The handsets will periodically go silent for a second or two while they reconnect, even at fairly short range from the receiver. Doesn't happen very often, though.
Haven't tried the headset jack yet, which was one of the reasons why I got this one.
Ok, but bad battery.......2007-06-27
A major concern for most homeowners is the battery for cordless phones. After a while, the 'memory' on the battery causes it not to be able to be recharged. I have had my phone system now for a couple years and took the phone off the charger (which has been there for about 24 hours) and placed a single call. No more than 10 seconds into the call, the phone is 'low battery'.
I will no longer by phones with the Nickle Metal Hidride batteries. They are consistently causing problems.
Other than the battery, this phone system was fantastic. No sound problems, had all the features I wanted.

uniden CLX475-3 does not support the new daylight saving time. I contact uniden support and the solution I got from them is to manually change the time. I can't believe this is their solution.
Great for families with little ones!.......2007-01-18
We bought this phone set to standardize our phones in our home. Also, our FP baby monitor just had one unit die. Rather than get phones AND new monitors, I found that this model (and most of Uniden's)have a Room Monitor function. So we got these to give them a try.
I'll start by saying I LOVE the Room Monitoring function! The sound is very clear, loud enough if you're not watching loud TV, and it picks up sounds well. We keep the handset about 7 feet from my son's crib, and I can hear him turn over with this. We used it at night to hear him, and it was just as good, if not better, than the baby monitor we had which had alot of hiss. The phone doesn't.
The range of the monitoring seems here to be about 250 feet. I haven't yet tried the phone range. Hope I can update this later. Sound quality is good, even with our everpresent line hum. Better than the 900Mhz ones we just replaced. We also have a wireless network so wanted to upgrade to the 5.8 only.
These phones are more like cell phones than last generation phones. The Phonebook is by name you enter, not a #. You can actually send phonebook entries from one handset to another, like 'magic'. We haven't played with the Outlook updating. OH, I also love the different ring tones, not traditional phone rings at all. There's a soft one for use when the baby is sleeping, and then you can mute the one in the baby's room.
The ONE drawback to the Room Monitoring feature is only ONE handset can be listening at a time. You have to end the monitoring on that handset before another one can. It'd be nice to be able to have at least two listening in.
Bunch of neat features in this phone, the fact you can expand to 10 handsets is great. We bought two more (the TCX-905s) for it. Easy to add the expansion phones. Nice deal this bundle.

overall, we love the new Uniden phone. There are so many wonderful features...we're still learning. I'm not that computer savvy, so setting it up was a bit of a challenge for me. I really like the distinctive ring feature..now I know exactly which of the kids are calling. The one thing I miss from our old Uniden is the time and date stamp on our caller ID. When we're gone for a day or two, it's nice to know WHEN someone called, not just that they called.
