The Panasonic KX-TGA650B handset is a supplemental accessory for Panasonic's KX-TG6500B-series phone systems (required, sold separately). Operating on the same 5.8 GHz frequency and with the same digital spread spectrum signal technology as the base system, this handset supplies the clear, consistent connection you rely on every day, with features to spare.
Access to the 50-station phonebook and caller ID/call waiting (with subscription to local service) is provided via the menu-driven three-line backlit LCD. A light-up antenna visually alerts you to new calls and messages, and you can even check your answering machine's messages from the handset.
The handset includes a belt clip and a phone jack for a headset (sold separately) for hands-free conversation, and a locator sound lets you track down the handset even when it's buried in the couch cushions. The vertical design of the charging cradle makes this a perfect addition for bedside tables or small kitchen counters--wherever space is at a premium. Very good 2-line phone. Great volume. Only problem is that when the 2nd line rings, it cuts out the primary line for a fairly lengthy time. The cutout delay is much longer than a call waiting beep for example. I estimate the cutout at 500 msec.

I own the base station and 4 handsets for two years now. The batteries last forever (about three days off the charger) and I can use the phone anywhere in the house and outside.

The only problem with these phones (I have 4) is the volume control. I have it set at the highest level and people that call say they can't hear me very well.

Bought the base system and one expandable phone about a year and a half ago. The party at the opposite end has a hard time hearing you - the microphone on the phone is terrible (especially at the price you are paying for this phone). The buttons on the hand set get stuck and are hard to press. Definitely overpaid for quality of this phone. Very dissappointed in the quality.
