Not worth the money.......2007-12-08
This keyboard is good as far as the distance it picks up and you don't have to point the keyboard toward your computer for it to work. However you will be typing, as I am now and the cursur will jump back to the beginning of the line. The other day the letters got off set, meaning I would type a N and a B would show up. So I had to reset the computer for the keyboard to reset as well. Also it BURNS through batteries, it takes 4 AAA batteries and I use it about 30mins a day and in a week I'm replacing them. Just over all this product is NOT worth the money you have to pay for it.

I've hunted for awhile for a good mouse/keyboard combo for an HTPC, and this one seems to finally have fit the bill. Kinda pricey, but well worth it for a wireless keyboard/mouse combo that works. The touchpad is very responsive (no lag like the joystick one I had), the keys feel good and are very responsive as well, and the setup/install was painless.
Now I've only had this keyboard for a short while and haven't had the opportunity to test its full range of capabilities, but that being said my first impressions here are outstanding.
Keyboard Allows Me To Surf Net On Big Screen.......2007-11-16
I had been looking for a wireless keyboard with a built-in mouse or touchpad to use with my Mac Mini. Another reviewer said he/she had used this keyboard with great success with a Mac Mini so I decided to buy it. My computer is set up upstairs and I wanted to be able to control it from downstairs so I could surf the net, write letters, etc., using my LCD projector and 100" inch screen downstairs.
I plugged in the USB dongle, put the batteries in the keyboard and then powered on my Mac. Setup was unbelievably simple. I read the Adesso instructions for setting up the keyboard but that was not necessary. The Mac recognized that a new keyboard was plugged in and just asked the normal setup questions of hitting the key to the left and key to the right of the shift key so it would know what type of keyboard it is dealing with and I was off and running.
The keyboard works flawlessly. Within 5 minutes, I was operating my iTunes from downstairs and checking my e-mail on the big screen. What a sweet set up.
An added bonus is that this does not interfere with my Apple bluetooth keyboard that I use on my desk with the Mac. I can switch back and forth between the Adesso and the Apple bluetooth keyboards seamlessly.
For what I want to do, this keyboard is perfect.

I wanted a wireless keyboard because I use my television as my monitor. And I wanted to be able to sit on my couch and check emails and such. Too bad I can't do that. You have to constantly hit the function key if you want to use half the letter keys. It gets really annoying. I would definetly not recommend this to a friend or a enemy.
Great for Linux.......2007-09-27
True plug and play. No software to install. It just works. The manufacturer obviously noted complaints that the keyboard is hard to wake up from sleep mode. That's fixed - you just hit any key and you are back in action. I had the virtually identical USB version for more than 2 years and it never gave up so no question about the units build quality. It is not light and flimsy and yes it is smaller than a standard keyboard - perfect to use on your lap and with good range - no problems up to 9 feet away (I can't get further than that).
Why not 5 stars? the scroll section of the tough pad is jumpy, when your finger wanders over it accidentally it's irritating. Suggestion to manufacturer - put a very slim ridge separating the scrolling area of the touch pad from the regular area, this way the finger will feel when it is wandering over the scroll area. I solved the problem with a very skinny strip of sticky "post it" separating tap from scroll area.
Works out the box with Kubuntu Edgy.

I used this antenna to move WiFi transmission beyond a plaster wall and away from some other electronics. That seemed to make all the difference - I tested two spots where I previously had trouble and there are no dropouts and faster transmission.

diffenently get a little better signal but not by much. the cable is about 5 feet too short to really be useful (its only about 3 feet long) and position the antenna in the optimal spot for improved signal receiption.

I had to return the entire system for a refund. The camera's came with a "warning" that electronic interference might occur. "Might" is putting it lightly. I have no devices under5.8Ghz other than the camera system itself. The poor reception quality was truly outstanding. After moving the camera closer and closer to the receiver (I got within three feet) the reception did not improve nor worsen. I suppose in ideal situations this might work out fine. I have a hardwired system now and am completely satisfied with the Swann hardwired cameras. Wireless, not this system.

Easy to set up, this system can mess up your wirless local area network (wlan) if you have it on the wrong chanel. Concrete and steel mess up the reception, so if you live in a concrete and steel house don't expect great reception. It works best within line of sight. Over all, I kept it.

Nice system. The cameras are small enough not to be noticed. Be warned that the "battery operation" of the camera is for testing only. The manual states that the cameras are not designed to work long term on the battery (9 Volt). The power cable supplied is size "h" and not terribly long. Be sure to consider where you can run power from when you install. Also, the Swan AV/power cords sold through Amazon are not compatible. This is a major headache if you do not plan for it. Finally, here in Florida, we have concrete walls. This limits the working range to about 30- 40 feet. Overall the cameras are nice but for my particular situation they are not up to the job.

You are only able to receive decent image quality if the wireless receiver is right next to the camera itself. It defeats the whole purpose of being wireless. I have mine set up only 15-20 feet away and all I get is a shaky screen. Stick with wired cameras instead.

Not worth the money poor recption,I have 4 wired swann camera's they work fine. I took a chance on a wireless for a hard to wire place but it wasn't worth it. I took it down got out the the 6ft drill bit and cut some sheet rock and put in a wired camers. The patch work didn't impress my wife but the camera Did.

I bought this wireless camera because I have the wired version and have been utterly satisfied with the quality. I purchased the wireless because it states you can put up to 4 cameras on one transmitter. The first camera, the picture is just as good as the wired. The second and third camera, once they were added, all 3 had horrible reception. there was nothing but static from each one. If you are planning on just one, it is totally worth the investment. If you plan on connecting multiple cameras to one receiver, this is a bad solution.

The antena is not at all helpful. it does not improve the range significantly. It may be helpfull when using one camera only as it improves when pointing directly to the camera but still not imroving the reception noticably.

The camera is very easy to install. However, in order to find the right spot for the receiver to get the best signal, you have to move the receiver around. When the cables that come with the cam are too short, you don't have much choice but move the TV along with the receiver or take the VCR out your TV shelf. It's too bad that I found no place to buy a longer digital and sound cable, neither on Swann's web site. Then finally I found a spot that get the best reception, my VCR that connects to the receiver with that provided short cable is 2 feet away from the TV shelf. Other than that, the picture is clear and sound is fine. Night vision is amazingly clear. Not a bad cam.

If you or a neighbor has a wireless Internet connection, and few purchasing this item would not, or a wireless phone using the 2.4Ghz spectrum, skip this product. Even with multiple channel capability the interference renders this product useless. Further, an e-mail on a driver issue for the video capture board took nearly a week for a terse response. Spend the extra money for a wired solution and save yourself from disappointment.

I purchased this product for rv to watch satellite outside at campsite. the video works good but audio has a lot of problems. If you get audio to work video rolls alot.range is very limited at best 25' says it will get 300' clear site. In my rv window (open no screen) sitting 15'-20' away had to constantly fiddle with reciever and transmitter to get it to work. Easier to run cable out window! like I said if it worked HALF as good as they say, it would be ok but unfornatly, I will send this back I probably will get charged shipping both ways so BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT!!!

I owned the predecessor to this system, also from Lorex. I used it with a TiVo, to use my TiVo (series 1) on another TV. The remote IR extender was critical to our use. The old system wore out from heavy use. I needed to replace it. I figured buying the same brand was a no-brainer.
This new system's IR extender is incompatible, apparently, with the TiVo. It works fine for controlling other things like the TV, but not the TiVo. Also, the picture quality is very poor, despite attempts to move it all over to different locations. I am extremely disappointed.
Great Idea Whose Time Hasn't Come.......2005-09-17
I really wanted this product to work for our RV lifetstyle. We have a satellite connection for the motorhome, and I wanted to set up this unit so we could also watch TV outdoors also. However, the static was so noisy and the picture flickered so much that this unit did not work satisfactorily. It also had the same problems in my home with a tv in another room. Unfortunately, I had to return the unit to Amazon.

If you have a clear line of sight not over 50 feet this device works well. However if over 50 feet and have to broadcast through walls its performance degrades rapidly.
Where's The Picture?.......2007-07-10
I am disappointed with the performance of my Lorex Wireless Video Sender. I thought it would be nice to watch a tv show in the living room or kitchen without drilling yet another hole in my house. The video sender did transmit the tv signal. However, we could not get the receiving tv to pick up in color, the picture rolled, and when we moved around the kitchen, the reception was worse. After hours of adjustment and moving the device to new locations, I am giving up. I learned my lesson.

This thing doesn't work at all, It doesn't broadcast the signal 12 feet away with no walls. I think wireless internet and wireless phones are afecting the signal. Anyway do not waste your money like I did!!

I used it to run a signal from my Directv to the garage for use on a small television about 50 feet away. It does a great job, a little bit of static every now and then. It was easier than running a cable and probably cost a lot less.

I needed to feed two (2) TV sets from a camcorder which was taping a discourse. The TVs were located downstairs in 2 separate rooms while the camcorder was running upstairs in the main auditorium. The distance was definitely less than 100 ft. Initially, when we set this up to test, the picture on the TV screens was clear with no static. However, when the attendees for the discourse began to fill the building, the TVs started to flicker and static. Once everyone settled, the picture seemed to stabalize and the guests could see most of the discourse clearly on the TV.
To summarize my experience...the transimitter/receiver did the job and setup was incredibly easy. However, it was an inconvenience for me to have to purchase 2 sets of the transmitter/receiver just to get an additional receiver. Lorex doesn't sell this separately. Don't ask me why? Other vendors that I researched do.
