Great universal charger.......2007-12-28
With our first child on the way I decided it was good sense to go for rechargeable batteries all around - save money and the enviornment. I looked at all the chargers available here in amazon but none seemed to be as versatile or cost effective as the Rayovac. So far the charger has been great. It has charged all my batteries, energixer, rayovac, cannon and even some non descript batteries I got ages ago. The set up is easy to use and the lights ensure you know what is being charged and when. The only small gripe is that charging can take a while - but that might be the batteries themselves. Very good product.

I only used it twice so far, so as of now it works as it's supposed to. Individual indicators for each battery lets you know when each one is fully charged.

A Great Alternative!.......2007-11-29
This charger was purchased as a replacement for my wall socket chargers that hog up my available sockets throughout my apartment, not only are they cumbersome but most of the units on the market today only hold four AA batteries and take up both wall sockets when plugged in! My wireless desktop requires 4 double A's alone, then there's the remotes for my DVD Recorder and Television, my digital camera and mini-disc player -all of which utilize the double A type batteries. Purchasing this charger was a real space and money saver. Along with it's purchase I bought extra new rechargeables so that I can cycle the usage of the batteries (when one set dies the others get replaced in the charger).
As for the charger itself, I can't complain as I have only owned this product for about six weeks so it's really too soon to tell and unfortunately that remains true for most of the products that I purchase, -by the time I make an honest appraisal of a product it's usually updated by the manufacturer. Most important is that this unit is only one out of a very slim line of it's sort that will hold this quantity of double A's, after an extensive internet search for a charger that will hold more than four this is what I came up with. It works nicely, each set of batteries is charged seperately and when charging is complete a red indicator light appears and charging is stopped so batteries don't get fried. It's very attractive in appearance with it's grey casing and blue dust cover it doesn't create an eye sorer sitting in or on0n my television console and best of all it only requires one socket for charging, it's economical and it's "GREEN"!!! I would reccomend this product to anyone that have electronics that require the AA or AAA type batteries -or any other sort of battery. Hope this helps.

I bought these batteries for my digital camera and they work great. High consumption digital devices can cost you a lot of money in batteries, and throwing batteries away is terrible for the environment. With these rechargable batteries not only can you save some money in the long run, but you'll also be doing your part for mother earth. Highly recommended.
Great charger and quality batteries.......2007-05-15
Works great for 4 AA or 4 AAA at a time. We use the included batteries in our digital camera, LED flashlights and walkie-talkies with no problems and good battery life. All my older AA rechargeables work with the charger. Takes about 2 hours to charge. The 12v car power attachment is a big plus when traveling/vacationing. This charger DOES work with AAA's - it has a flip down converter.
The AC adapter is pretty darn big and heavy for what it is - that would probably be my only negative but it's not a big deal.
What a Life/Money Saver.......2007-05-07
After buying my first SLR digital camera and burning through the regular batteries, this recharger has been a life saver (not running out of batteries in the middle of a long photographic hike since I bought a second set of four chargeable batteries) and a money saver by simply alternating between the two sets and not buying the regular ones every one to two weeks.

I was very happy with the fast delivery. This product is the best I have used. I have been through 3 different battery chargers and they have died after a few uses.

This is one bad puppy. The batteries literally fall out of the charger and it takes much longer to fully charge the batteries than the other chargers offered by Duracell. I threw mine away in disgust. The batteries are very good and, used with the 15- or 30-miutes charger give superior results.
Great Value, good product.......2007-11-29
With having a police scanner running all the time, plus several baby monitors, I needed something better than buying disposable batteries all the time. I decided to give the Duracell Value Charger a try.
This is my first foray in to the world of rechargeable batteries and I am quite impressed. The charger is small and fits either AAA or AA batteries. 4 AA batteries are included. The unit is NOT a quick charger. Charging the batteries can take anywhere from 6-8 hours, but if you are not in a hurry, it is not an issue. The indicator light is red when it is charging, and turns green when finished. It then continues to trickle charge the batteries if you are not ready to use them.
As for the batteries themselves, I am very happy with them. It seems the batteries last longer than traditional alkaline AAs, as I have them running in devices that pretty much run 12 or more hours a day. In my opinion they hold their charge well and offer plenty of power for electronic devices.
I would highly recommend these batteries and charger. It is a great value and offers power and convenience.

I bought these last minute before going on a vacation. I got lucky and found this set at Walgreens for only $6, so I wasn't expecting much from them. I was very surprised at how long the batteries lasted - most rechargeable batteries only last about 20 minutes in my Kodak z712. The four batteries in this set were all I needed to get through my trip - they lasted about a two hours, with lots of flashes and videos and the LCD screen on. I would also recommend buying some extra batteries for this charger. They sell them at Wal-Mart for about $10, and they are 2650 mah instead of 1800 mah, which means they last even longer. The charging time usually took about 8 hours - I just plugged them in before I went to bed every night and they were ready the next morning when I woke up and lasted all day.
Overall, they are great batteries for the price and I recommend them MUCH more than Energizer rechargeables.
Warning to overseas travelers; worthless batteries.......2007-08-03
This unit works fine in the US, charging four batteries in 5-6 hours. Though it's rated up to 240V, it fried out on Korea's 220V. It didn't die completely, just became extremely hot, smelled like smoke, and finally shut itself off. It did this a number of times and I gave up on it.
The batteries that come with the charger are worthless--fully charged, I took three pictures and my camera said "low battery"! The same thing happened to a friend--at Iguazu Falls, Argentina!

This is a pretty cool little charger. It has a very long cord on it, so you can get to the USB ports on a tower that sits on the floor very easily.
I was confused about how the red lights on the thing worked, and couldn't find any information. But after observing the charger in action for a while it was clear that the lights go out when the charge is complete.
Quick charge takes a few hours to charge two AA batteries, a bit longer for the AAA.

I have purchased this recharger because I have a bluetooth travel mouse with my laptop. It goes through batteries like crazy.
Pros: This recharger at least allows me not to worry when I am on the go and need my AAA batteries recharged.
Cons: The plastic lid is not holding secure and always trying to fall off.
