Pretty good.......2007-12-11
The bag is handsome, well-made, and easy to carry. I like the grab handle. I have a Nikon D-80 and with one additional zoom lens the bag is tight enough to pull then lens cap off as I extricate the camera from the bag. I have removed much of the adjustable Velcro padding from inside the bag and it it still just a tad too tight. Overall I think the bag is a value and as time goes by I think it will loosen up.
Excellent for FujiFilm S6000fd and others.......2007-11-19
Already posted a review on the Tamrac 3536 Express 6 Camera Bag in black, but since they only differ in color, thought it might be wise to share it here.
Experience teaches one over the years that the first bag one picks for new photo gear is not necessarily the right choice.
Had purchased a new Fujifilm Finepix S6000fd Digital Camera, didn't want to invest in a camera-only case, but wanted a compact and rugged bag that would hold and protect the new camera along with a few accessories to allow for a day's shooting without swearing about the accessory or item one left at home or in the car.
Really like Lowepro's products (and own some, along with Tenba, Tamrac, Domke, etc.), so I visited each manufacturer's site and a couple retailers as well. In the end, purchased the Tamrac 3536 Express 6 Camera Bag, and all I can say is that this a true 5-star item. It holds my camera, filters, xD memory cards, a Sony Quick Charger with 4 AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, additional spare batteries, a Nikon Micro Fiber cleaning cloth, a Nikon lens cleaning pen, a Tamrac Memory & Battery Management Wallet, pens, notebook, the camera manual, spare glasses, small flashlight, an mp3 player and more. Used the cell phone pocket on the side to store my Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier in its original sheath.
At about 1.1 pounds (500 grams) the bag is deceptively light, and has excellent construction and stitching. The padding is first-rate, and the padded inserts are easy to adjust, but do take a few minutes at home to do this in advance. Its shoulder strap is padded and nicely contoured, and the bag has a useful carrying handle that allows for the bag to be picked up without spilling the contents all over the ground. In other words, the designers thought carefully about the photographer before putting it together. To top it off, there's a discrete khaki ultra suede accent panel adding a slight stylish touch to the bag.
Though I had bought this specifically for my own S6000fd, a friend with a larger Canon digital SLR and a medium-range zoom lens tried slipping his camera in the bag, and it went in and back out without any problems. He's now purchasing the same one, for the same reasons that I've listed here.
Hint: If you have a S6000fd, store the camera's standard 'cookie-cutter' lens hood in the reversed position on the lens barrel (see your manual). It slips in and out of the case quite easily.
Additional thought: If your unsure as to whether your camera will fit or not, perhaps it would be wise to remember the old term of RTFM and get your dimensions first.
This is a great bag for carrying a pretty diverse set of equipment, but is perfect for any FujiFilm S6000fd owner who needs just a little more than the standard camera case. It's a true 5-star camera bag.
Great Bag .......2007-11-15
SLR camera bags are bulky and heavy. I purchased this bag to have a smaller bag for my new camera. This bag is not only smaller, but quite compact. The top design allows for easy access to my camera quickly and easily when I need it most. There are several pockets for storing accessories and other needed supplies. The bag has a top handle as well as shoulder strap.
The cell phone holder and inside pocket are a big snug when camera is packet in bag, but the top zip compartment is roomy for small items. This is a great back for traveling or tooling around town with your camera.
Good bag but too small for my equipment.......2007-10-26
I have a D80 with 18-135 mm, 50mm and also 70-300 mm lens. The bag looks so good but it's just too small for my equipment. This bag can hold 2 small lens and 1 battery charger and that's it. I rated it 4. I love the design. I'm selling it and buying a bigger camera bag.
Too small for basic equipment........2007-10-25
I'm not sure how everyone is stuffing this bag but there is no room for this basic equipment;
Canon XTI with 24-60mm attached
BG-E3 battery grip
580EX II Flash
Forget about an extra lens. I like a little more protection than a thin coat of canvas busting at the seams for a $400 flash. This is my second purchase based on reviews and the second bag that is not adequate for basic equipment.
My next trip is to a brick and mortar to actually see the physical capacity of a bag before purchasing. Otherwise, if you have a small camera and few accessories, this bag would be ideal. It is well built and sleek.

Great light walk-around bag!.......2007-12-09
This is my second camera bag since I have started to use DSLRs, had to upgrade due to semi-expansion of the gears. I was satisfied with the design and the quality of the bag the moment I recieved it, and was happy with it the day I used it first.
I have my Canon 350D(XT), Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, and Canon 50mm f/1.8 MK-I in this bag which is about a full load with slight wiggle room but no more room for any other lens. In the main partition I made, I could store the camera+28-135 and then put a borrowed Canon Speedlite 580EX flash in the case on top of it without any problem. Also there're plenty of the room for filters/memory cards/wipes/etc. in the front compartment and room for papers and such in the back pocket.
My favorite part about this bag is how fast I can see and react to take a picture as long as I have a lens mounted. Just a clip to open the bag and take out and shoot!
I would definitely recommand this bag to anyone who would like to carry around a simple and light DSLR or high-end super zoom camera with plenty of room to spare.

Tamrac 3536 Express 6 bag.......2007-11-04
This camera bag actually exceeded my expectations, especially for the affordable price tag. I purchased this to carry my Panansonic Lumix camera and liked the idea that it had additional room for a cell phone. It also has a zipper pocket on front and back of the bag, providing room to carry more than just my camera. I love the suede accents and they give it a more stylish look than the average camera bag. The Tamrac 3536 Express 6 bag appears to be very sturdy/well made, you will not be disappointed with this camera bag!
Nice, but too small for my camera.......2007-10-30
I was looking for essentially a single camera case that didn't look like a camera case. This case was well made and didn't look like your typical camera case. It was small like I had hoped, but it ended up too small for my Nikon D200. There is also no way that this would have held a camera and a couple of other smaller lenses as described. Probably good if you are looking for a small and light carrying case with minimal accessories and a camera that is smaller than the D200 (maybe good for the D40 & D40X's).

Tamrac's new Velocity Series features Quick Flip Tops that open away from the body for fast access to camera gear! The Velocity 7x is a sling pack that carries like a backpack, but swings to the front for quick access to photo gear without removing them from your shoulder. Though it doesn't look like a camera bag, the Velocity 7x - Photo Sling Pack is a unique, ultra-functional pack that carries like a backpack, but swings around to the front for quick access to an SLR with a 6-inch lens attached and a couple additional lenses. Inside the main compartment, the camera with lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers. The secure, zippered Quick Flip Top opens away from the body for fast and convenient access to camera gear. A well-padded sling strap comfortably distributes the weight, but need not be removed to quickly access photo equipment. A Tuck-A-Way waist belt allows the pack to be used while hiking, biking or doing other activities. The front pocket has organizer pockets inside to keep a mobile phone, PDA or photo accessories within easy reach. The Velocity 7x also features Tamrac's U.S.-patented Memory & Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify available memory cards and batteries from ones that are used up. A pocket inside the lid stores filters and lens caps. This pack is also customizable with Tamrac's Modular Accessory System components.

Versatile Camera Bag.......2007-12-11
I recenly picked up the Velocity 7x to replace a borrowed boxy Lowe-pro bag that I had been previously using for my Canon Rebel XTi (400D) and two lenses. This bag is a good fit, albeit a tight fit, but there is more room for the longer 300mm lens such that I can actually store the camera in the bag with the lens attached.
The #1 downside is that it doesn't sit upright on a table.
Everything else is great, it sits comfortably against your side and can swing around for easy access.
Great bag but too small for my needs.......2007-12-10
I bought this bag for my Nikon D50 with kit lens, 210 telephoto, and Panasonic SD1 video camera. It was a VERY tight squeeze to get it all in there, so I returned it and bought the Velocity 8 (which fits everything nicely). I like the way the Velocity series is worn messenger style. It allows for secure carrying, but quick access by swinging it around to the front.
Perfect bag for its size.......2007-10-27
Tamrac 5767 Velocity 7x Photo Sling Pack (Black)
Love this bag, took it all over Europe with us recently, was able to quickly move it from my back to my side to my front for access or just to avoid the pickpockets...
It holds easily my Nikon D70 with its everyday lens along with the telefoto lens on one side... Since I don't have another lens yet, I was able to keep a bottle of water, sunglasses, whatever I needed in the other pocket, and the flap covered it, so it didn't touch the camera.
The front pockets are a little tight for my extra battery with a memory card in the same pocket, but no other complaints. Seems very sturdy so far, and the compartments are easy to un-velcro and move around.
It's nice.......2007-08-29
I'm not really serious about pictures, I just like having my camera (Rebel xTi) and two lenses (50-300, and kit lens) in one bag with all the other acessories. It's comfortable, but it doesn't feel all that secure on my back, like it would fall off with lateral movement. I may have been better off with a small backpack. Camera is very easy to get out of the bag, does what it describes, just not as I expected
Practical.......2007-08-09
Greetings. I purchased this item with a pre-known info. I have a friend that uses one and he is very happy with it. I purchased one and I also very happy with it. It has room for a full size camera with a lens and two pockets for two lenses or one lens in one pocket with accesories in the other pocket. Seems very small but once in use it does not seem that small. The only drawback I found out is the shoulder belt holder needs a little more padding. I got one of those 'fake lamb' skin accesory for a car seat belt and it works wonders. The sling has pockets all over the place for memory cards, batteries, release attachments (cable release if you use a film camera). Any person will be happy using this sling bag.

Pay attention to the dimensions.......2007-12-07
I returned this bag because it was a lot smaller than it looked online. Otherwise, it would have been perfect.
A bit too small.......2007-11-03
This video camera bag is a bit too small to hold all of the necessary equipment for today's video camera. The camera fits fine but there is no room for the battery charger and the camera manual (which you need to have on hand...unless you memorized yours!). There is also limited space for extra minitapes...I suggest you got for the bigger bag if you want to take all of your supplies with you when you travel!
Great Bag!.......2007-08-17
Bag is the perfect size for a compact video camera. I own the Panasonic SDR-H200 and it fits in the main compartment of the bag along with the charger, charging cord, instruction book, and much more. A great bag!
Product Description
The Velocity 8x Pro Sling Pack is slightly smaller than the Velocity 9x, but still accommodates a pro digital or film SLR with a grip (such as Canon's EOS 1D series or Nikon's D2 series) and an 8-inch zoom lens attached. Inside the main compartment, the camera with lens attached is suspended on two vertical, foam-padded dividers that are internally reinforced with rigid plastic. The Velocity 8x can be carried comfortably like a backpack, but when swung around to the front, the secure zippered Quick Flip Top opens away from the body for fast and convenient access to camera gear. A well-padded sling strap comfortably distributes the weight, but need not be removed to quickly access photo equipment. A Tuck-A-Way waist belt allows the Velocity 8x to be used comfortably during vigorous activities such as hiking or biking. The front pocket has organizer pockets inside to keep a mobile phone, PDA or photo accessories within easy reach. The Velocity 8x Pro Sling Pack also features Tamrac's US-patented Memory & Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify available memory cards and batteries from ones that are used up. A pocket inside the lid stores filters and lens caps. Customize this sling pack with Tamrac's Modular Accessory System components.

Tamrac 5768.......2007-12-11
Nice bag, good quality, not quite as comfortable to use as I expected. I think the sling could be wider.
Not the best oranized but very practical.......2007-12-10
I originally bought the Velcity 7 for my Nikon D50 with kit lens, 210 telephoto, and Panasonic SD1 video camera. It was a VERY tight squeeze to get it all in there, so I returned it and bought the Velocity 8 (which fits everything nicely). I like the way the Velocity series is worn messenger style. It allows for secure carrying, but quick access by swinging it around to the front. I haven't done any trips yet, so the review is not totally complete.
As others have mentioned, the camera is "suspended" on the dividers unless a long lens is attached. However, it does not feel like anything will fall out. If you have a lot of accessories, I would recommend a full backpack-style bag.
Tamrac Over the Shoulder Bag.......2007-10-30
This is my third camera bag. I finally have one that works for me. I carry a digital camera with a 18 to 200 mm lens, a macro lens, a flash, and all my filters and auxiliary stuff in it. It is of reasonable size and does the job.
get a backpack instaed.......2007-06-18
I have the Velocity 7 but it would not hold my 80-400 lens attached. The strap on this bag has little padding and the weight with a camera and lens in the bag starts to weigh on your shoulder.
I ordered the Velocity 8x with high hopes the new design would be better. It is not. The strap has more padding and my 80-400 and another lens fits in the bag but the weight still is a problem for one "sling" strap. Furthermore the product photos are deceptive they show the bag sitting high in the users back and low when it swings around. This is false advertising, if you adjust the bag so fit your back it swings around so high on your chest you struggle to get to your equipment. The adjustment strap annoyingly bunches up as you move from the back to front position. You would be better served to remove the bag defeating the whole purpose. Plus its dificult to get off and on.
I agree with the following reviews about the Velocity 8, they still hold true to the 8X.
Brian Smart wrote: "There is no particular support for the camera, other than the standard Velcro attached dividers. You can stuff it in pretty much any way you want to, but it never really seems to fit in any kind of secure fashion. True, it will hold a good amount of gear, but the top only access is awkward, and you end up digging into the bottom of the bag with no real organization options for lenses, filters, etc. And don't even get me started on the sling strap. It not only doesn't work very well, it makes it difficult to even carry the bag. It can't just be thrown over your shoulder when you need to run. And don't even try to put it on over a jacket. You need to be a bit of a contortionist to get your head and arm through the strap. If there was at least a quick-release buckle on the strap it would help. The bag's flat profile is nice, but wasted. Plus, the round bottom makes it impossible to set the bag down to open it up. It ends up lying on its back, or sort of, since the big fat sling strap sticking out the back won't actually let you lay it down flat. The advertising sounded great! Now, if they would just design the bag that they advertised...
Oh, and did I mention that this bag didn't live up to my expectations?"
I agree with Road Runners assessment as well: "...when I got a bigger lens and camera body (which did not fit in the 7) I naturally picked up the 8 (even though some "reviews" on Amazon noted that the angle of the bag after you swing it around to the front made it difficult to remove the camera.....some even felt they were likely to drop the camera)." ..."What makes the bag hang at that awkward angle is the location of the strap attachment on the side of the bag.....it is lower than on the Velocity 7. As a result, the bag hangs at a tilt when you swing it around in front of you. I could never have enjoyed my skiing trips, or taken so many great pictures, if the 7 was this awkward to use."
Get a backpack you will be better served.
Finally the right sling bag.......2007-06-14
I now own three Velocity Sling Bags. I frist purchased the Velocity 9, as I thought the 7 would not be big enough to carry my Cannon 300 and now the 400XTI, along with room for Three lenses Cannon 17-40 f4L, the 24-105 F4L, and the Cannon 70-200 f4L. assorted filters, caps batteries, and memory cards. well it was too big, next tried the Velocity 7, too small had to leave one lense out, well the 8X solved all problems. in addition they did one thing I had hoped for the zipper flaps are on the inside of the pack now so you open it away from you. makes it easier to get at everything.
If I had but one more suggestion it would be to be able to lock the cover closed. In Europe one has to be careful of pick pockets and locks would allow me to leave the pack on my back while more through towns and villages.

Indeed. I chose it for its small size and it is just what I need to protect and carry my Panasonic Lumix FZ8. The inside pocket holds it fast and the small extra pouches hold SD cards, cables, filters...
More: It fits in my hand luggage. I love it.

Camera Bag Review.......2007-12-11
The bag is very attractive but just too small to hold my camera and two lenses. Perfect for a little digital camera but not the Canon Rebel. Should have purchased the bigger one, for sure.
Great for travel.......2007-07-24
I share pretty much all of the same opinions with the other reviewer. I also removed one of the velcro dividers in order to use the bag with my Canon S3 IS and adaptor/lens converter. I keep batteries and memory cards in the front pocket, a card reader in the side, and a lens cleaning cloth in the flap pocket. With some wrestling, I can fit my large AA battery charger in the bottom of the main compartment, but I don't think I'll do this unless necessary.
Buy this bag if you like to carry lots of accessories with your camera. Do NOT buy this bag if you are just looking to carry your S1/S2/S3/S5 IS and a few small items (like a set of batts and a memory card). This will be WAY too big if that's the case. An alternate, smaller bag I recommend is the Lowepro Edit 110 mini-camcorder bag. That worked well for my S3 IS and its batteries and cards, before I got the extra lens kit.
Digital essentials only.......2007-02-08
I got the 3535 Ultra-Compact Messenger Bag to carry my Canon S3 IS, extra batteries and memory cards and a battery charger. The camera has a lens adapter + filter + new cap, meaning its depth has grown. In order for it to fit in the bag, I had to remove one of the padded dividers (a horrendous battle with pieces of velcro sticking to everything), but now the camera fits nicely, lens turned upward. The remaining divider separates the camera from the charger, which is good. Extra batteries and cards are safely stowed in the front compartment -- the cards within the zippered part. A cleaning cloth fits in the small compartment on the front flap. There is a little side pocket for my cellphone, a nice touch if I don't want to carry extra volumes on a day out. The bag is well made and very sturdy, padding on all sides. I would like it to be slightly shorter and slightly wider, but it does the job well.
