Does what it's supposed to.......2007-12-29
Bought the Pentax brand because I am a paranoid person that is afraid of using a 3rd party battery in my $1000.00 camera. I felt safer buying this product because it's not made in China so it won't explode while using it (and void my warranty). Other than that what can I say? It's just a battery. It works.

Misleading ad.......2007-06-22
The battery grip is great and a good addition to a very good camera. My low rating is more for the supplier. The battery included is not a Pentax branded battery but an after market battery. The description leads you to think otherwise. The price would be good for the Pentax brand battery but is high for the battery you get.

I agree wholeheartedly with C. Morrin "CAM" regarding the usefulness of having the digital card on the grip - how about making it active when the other one is full??? - I find it a bit cumbersome to have to open the battery compartment and replace my main card for the one in "storage" - they should've design this grip a bit better by having the camera read the card form the grip and not for one to have to change the thing manually - anyway, it's convenient to have an extra battery and a grip to take the photos in odd positions - still, I thing it's a bit overpriced for only two features...I still recommend it because of the functionality.

I like the extra length this grip adds to the bottom of the camera, as well as the addition of an integrated second battery. I would like to have seen the SD memory card made active also, though the extra card storage is still useful. While taking vertical shots the added grip is worth it's weight in gold and made with the same quality of fit and finish as my K10d.

Batteries are not Pentax........2007-08-23
The description of the batteries in this listing is vague, and the Pentax part number is used for the batteries but they are not Pentax. The two batteries I received in this outfit are CTA. The CTAs are 1350mAh versus 1620mAh for the Pentax. In other words, the CTAs have a shorter life per charge. You're better off buying the grip and batteries separately.
The grip is genuine Pentax and well constructed. I highly recommend it as it makes an excellent camera (K10D) even better.

A great battery.......2007-02-06
This battery is one of the longest lasting batteries of this type. It holds a little bit more juice than most the others and always holds up under heavy use. This is my second one of these batteries and they are the only batteries I will buy. They just last longer and work great.
Great durability.......2007-01-26
With a 6.1mp Minolta 7D, a 4GB card, and 6hrs of a Wedding to shot; this is the battery you need. Easily captured 500+ photos before I got nervous and changed the battery. That 4GB was rated at 689 photographs at the setting I was using - High resolution. Quick charge and in the camera for the reception.
Proprietary battery, but one of the best I've used........2007-01-18
I don't know about anybody else, but I've found that digital cameras eat batteries FAST! I'm lucky to get 15 pictures on a set of fresh alkalines or rechargeable 2500 mah Nimh with my other camera (Olympus SP-350)--which I bought partly because it could use AA batteries. I've yet to have this battery run dead, and this Maxxum 5D is bigger and has a lot more to run! I'm generally opposed to proprietary batteries (The Kodak's I've used are terrible!), but this one works well.

Pentax battery pack.......2007-10-17
My only complaint is that the battery sent, while it fits the Pentax K10D camera and battery pack, is not the D-150 Lithium-ion advertised. Other than that one small concern I am happy with the package sent and the service from Amazon and from the supplier, Cameta Camera.
