worked fine until it failed.......2007-12-23
I bought it about a month ago. Used it at home hocking to a TV and on road trip to Florida. It worked fine and played all the disks I fed it. Nothing to complain until it suddenly failed two days ago. It made a bad smell and won't give any sign of life again. I will come back and tell you how good J&R's service is.

The player worked great for 1 Month. The player still plays the movie but the screen is Black. I would not buy the product again. I have a feeling it has to do with the swivel screen

Got the DVD player few days back. The picture quality is extremely good. I liked the sound quality too. Plus it has both the NTSC & PAL color system in it. Came loaded with lot of accessories. Coby could have done better with the build quality of the DVD Player. It comes with a cover that holds the DVD Player on the back of the driver's seat or the front passenger seat, but the quality of the cover is terrible. I don't expect it to last long. I got a feeling that it was meant for the 7" DVD Player. Having lot of problem pushing the unit in. Overall a excellent product. A must BUY !!!!!

Great little DVD player.......2007-11-04
Love it!!! The Coby works great. The remote control takes a bit of study but all the features are there... The battery lasts about 3 hours. More than enough for a good movie... The screen is beautiful. Unit is very reliable.
Get the Case Logic brand travel bag to go with it ($29 Amazon). The bag is well padded and has room for all the accessorie and the player.
When you first open the unit a small plastic insert holds the player head for shipping.. I would recommend keeping this insert and when you travel use it to secure the head. The head is the most delicate part of all players.
I used it all summer when TDY. I had a full size player in the apartment but the Coby was better and had better sound on the earphones. Plus the movable screen made for comfortable viewing.
The two earphones are super nice and has the new head band that is very comfortable, super duper sound quality....
The Coby is not a toy and not recommended for kids...
The overall construction is metal and good plastic.

I really like this portable player, has good sound and great picture. Just a bit heavier than I expected. Just bought it a couple months ago and I am sad to see I paid $50 more than it sells for now. :(

I had bought the 3 season set of the show "Deadwood", and needed some way to play it without upsetting the rest of the family. The language in this show is really really bad. Sitting in the basement and watching it is uncomfortable so I bought this Coby player after reading some of the reviews on here. I find the audio and video to be as well as expected and don't have a single complaint; however, I use this sitting on my sofa and not in a vehicle, so I can't speak to the method most people use a portable dvd player. I also have played only pre-recorded dvd's and cant speak to home made copies. If I had to come up with a complaint for balance, it would be that the headsets provided (2) hurt my ears. Overall I finds this excellent value.

This is a very good player, comparable to more expensive top name brands. We have made two trips, watching 3 movies on one trip. The battery will last for a little more than one movie, about 3 hours. The set comes with everything you need including two headsets. Picture is good. Audio is excellent. Sound quality was important to me as I have a hearing impairment. I checked 10 or 12 players and this one had the best sound quality. We have been very pleased

Skipping copied DVD but others OK.......2007-06-12
I purchased this product last month. It's works good with picture quality and little bigger screen than one we use before was 7" poraloid.
We normally keep in the car for entertaining children. Speaker is loud enough so no need headphone for small children without chewing their headphone.
Only things bothing, they skipping and freezed most of copied DVD. Manufactur issed DVD is not really problem if it's super clean.
Swivel is helpful to change DVD and stop/play in the car, since we put this unit between the front seats for children
Quality is very good I must say. Shipment arrived earlier than Amazon promised date. Over all I'm OK with this product.
